CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. It was pioneered and developed by Osteopathic Physician John E. Upledger after years of clinical testing and research at Michigan State University where he served as professor of biomechanics.
Therapists using Visceral Manipulation assess the dynamic functional actions as well as the somatic structures that perform individual activities. They also evaluate the quality of the somatic structures and their functions in relation to an overall harmonious pattern, with motion serving as the gauge for determining quality.
Ortho-Bionomy®is an osteopathically-based form of bodywork therapy that was developed in 1976 by the British osteopath Dr. Arthur Pauls. This holistic and pain-free technique is very effective in working with chronic stress, injuries and pain associated with postural and structural imbalances.
Integrated Energy Therapy— (IET™) is one of the next generation "hands on" power energy therapy systems that get the "issues out of your tissues" for good.
“Neural”, refers to the nervous system of the body, which includes the Brain, Spinal Cord, Autonomic Nervous System and Peripheral Nerves. These delicate systems act as a communication highway throughout the body and when they are not operating properly, pain and loss of many functions can occur.
The fascial system within the human body is made up of a three dimensional matrix of continuous connective tissue which surrounds every artery, vein, nerve, organ, muscle and bone in the body. It is a web of tough connective tissue surrounding, stabilizing and holding the body together. It is a continuous, spider web like matrix from head to toe.
Within the domain of Manual Therapy, Strain-Counterstrain has its origins as a type of “passive positional release” created by Lawrence Jones, D.O. in the early 1960s. As a comprehensive approach for the treatment of somatic dysfunction and pain, it works on decreasing the hyperactivity of the myotatic reflex arc. This decreases muscle spasm and reestablishes muscle length, joint mobility and articular balance of joint surfaces.
A more evolved concept of Strain Counterstrain which directly influences and assists changes in the Autonomic Nervous system. (ANS)
The autonomic nervous system is the involuntary or unconscious division of the peripheral nervous system. It stimulates “all smooth muscles” of blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, organs, nerves and glands.
A technique developed by Bruno Chickly, MD, DO (1961) who stemmed and evolved his research from predecessors dating back to 1920.
The Lymphatic system is your immune system and your Immune system keeps you healthy. Proper function of the lymphatic system is the ability of the body to drain stagnant fluids, regenerate tissue, detoxify and filter out foreign substances from the interstitial spaces of the cells.
Neural Motility is the electrical synchronization and balancing of neural wave patterns between the brain, the brainstem and its connections to nerve plexuses, ganglions and organs in the body.
